Secure-24, Inc., a leading provider of managed hosting for the mission-critical IT systems of industry and government, announced today that it has been selected as one of Corp! Magazine’s 2010 Michigan’s Going Green Award recipients.

Southfield, Mich. (Vocus/PRWEB ) January 28, 2010 — Secure-24, Inc., a leading provider of managed hosting for the mission-critical IT systems of industry and government, announced today that it has been selected as one of Corp! Magazine’s 2010 Michigan’s Going Green Award recipients.

Secure-24 is one of 21 honorees in the award category of Green Initiative Champions. These businesses will be featured in the publication’s green edition, which is being released today. Corp! Magazine honored Secure-24 for practices and efforts that protect the environment. Through technology and four data centers in Michigan and Arizona, Secure-24 operates efficiently for its customers, business and environment.

“We take personal responsibility to meet or exceed commitments to our customers and communities. When we leverage technology to increase energy efficiency and lower the cost of doing business, everyone benefits,” said Secure-24 chief executive officer (CEO) Matthias Horch.

Data centers are energy intensive. Much of the power consumption in data centers is used to cool servers and other equipment. When Secure-24 built its newest data center – every element – from leveraging Michigan’s abundant cold temperatures, to cold aisle containment, high-density servers, virtualization, and even sensor driven lighting — all contributed to increased energy efficiency and a lower CO2 footprint.

During the past year, Secure-24 invested more than $5 Million to build this new, state-of-the-art data center in Plymouth Township (Mich.) and expects its total technology investment in the facility to exceed $10 million over the next several years.

This innovative green operation and industry leading technology in Secure-24’s data centers help reduce energy consumption while maintaining security and reliability for IT infrastructure-outsourcing clients across North America and around the globe.

In addition, Secure-24 continues to implement green ideas that come from across the organization, hiring and encouraging knowledge workers who consider the environmental impact of technology in a fast growing business.
