Quality Iron Products Names Two New Senior Managers to its Executive Staff

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 1, 2010 — Quality Iron Products, Inc., which specializes in the fabrication and installation of structural steel in the construction sector, has named two new executives to its management team. Veteran business executive Gilbert Barnes has been named Partner, Business Development, while architect Bill Adelson AIA has been named Director of Project Management.

Gilbert Barnes
Gilbert Barnes, who spent most of his career in the commercial and residential real estate sectors, brings a long list of accomplishments to Quality Iron. He will lead Quality Iron’s business development efforts.
He is former President of Stewart Title Co. of San Diego; former Chief Operating Officer of LandSafe Title Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of Countrywide Financial Corp.; and former Managing Director of Countrywide Financial Corp.
Barnes has been a Division President of Countrywide Funding and Ocwen Federal Bank. In addition, Barnes has served on several advisory boards, including Microsoft Corp.
He has been an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and founding chairman of the Clean Energy Council.
Barnes, who is a national leader on renewable energy issues, will remain a steering committee member of the Coalition for the Green Bank, a group of energy executives advising Congress on energy legislation. The coalition seeks to establish a “green bank” that would provide financing for electric power plants using renewable energy sources.
Barnes is a graduate of Stanford University.
Bill Adelson
Licensed architect Bill Adelson most recently served as President of Envision Solar International Inc., which he co-founded in 2006. He will direct Quality Iron’s push to become a leader in solar energy construction projects.
Previously, Adelson was a Senior Associate at Tucker Sadler Architects in San Diego, one of the top design firms in Southern California. He was in charge of the firm’s largest projects, including the proposed $700 million, 1.5-million-square-foot expansion of the San Diego Convention Center and the $48 million expansion of the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe.
Previously, Adelson served as Vice President of Development for the U.S. real estate investment arm of Siemens AG, where he developed and managed offices and fabrication plants in New York, Toronto, Chicago and Seattle.
He is an expert in the design of solar energy projects, which have included the 500 kW University of California San Diego Gilman and Hopkins parking decks and the 230 kW Saint Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, as well as a 100 kW project for the city of Napa, 70 kW state office building project in Sacramento and 15 kW federal government project (NREL) in Golden, Colo.
Adelson received his architecture degree from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from New York University Stern’s School of Business.
