What we need is yankee ingenuity. Instead of building our cars out of heavy steel we should be using carbon fiber which is 1/5th the weight and around 5 times as strong of steel per unit thickness. If we used carbon fiber which is not the same as fiber glass to use for the car skin and frame of the vehicle we could save a bundle on weight and therefore increase the mileage drastically. This would make the electric car and the hibrid a viable solution. Then using hydrogen as a fuel along with batteries makes sense.
If we built our houses differently we could solve the heating and cooling problem.
I am optimistic. There are solutions to everything. We just need to want to change.
