Damon Clifford
Mr. Clifford is President and co-founder of Alternative Energy Foundation. He is responsible for managing all operational functions and ensuring that the organization's vision, objectives, and values are upheld. Together with the board of directors, Mr. Clifford is responsible for shaping Alternative Energy Foundation as the world's energy market changes in the 21st Century.
Mr. Clifford has been involved in the energy industry for over ten years - from oil & gas drilling to selling private placements for energy investments. He is a leader in the energy field and advocates standard setting initiatives. Mr. Clifford has been an outspoken advocate for alternative energy research and development as a source to complement traditional energy resources. Driven by a desire to contribute to the world's energy problems, Mr. Clifford created the Alternative Energy Foundation in response to society's demand for cleaner and more efficient sources of energy.
Dr. Ryan Hartman
Ryan Hartman is the Scientific Advisor for the Alternative Energy Foundation. He is a co-founder and in charge of all technology pursued by Alternative Energy Foundation. He leads the effort to align the organization's vision with society's energy needs, while evaluating scientific merit of potential alternative energy technologies.
Dr. Hartman has held a number of research and development positions over the last 10 years. A native of Michigan, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Michigan Technological University. He also worked with the BASF Corporation during his undergraduate studies. He was later appointed Research Fellow at the University of Michigan, where he carried out energy related research and earned a Master of Science in Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy, both in chemical engineering. He then joined the energy industry, serving as a Product Development Engineer with Schlumberger Limited. Prior to establishing Alternative Energy Foundation, he was appointed Research Associate in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Hartman has authored numerous publications and patents and represented organizations at several national and international events, such as the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Annual Conference, the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition. In 2003, he was named Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America Fellow. In 2007, his research work was featured on the cover of Langmuir. He also has special interest in science and education.
